Oh families…each and every one SO different. These sessions have always been a challenge for me; the struggle to get “that perfect image”, kids just wanting to be free to play, parents getting frustrated. Although I always end up getting beautiful images, it isn’t without stress on everyone involved. For a while, I attempted to avoid these types of sessions because of it! I mean, give me a 10 day old crying baby and I can work baby whispering magic! After much thought, practice, and observation, I decided I needed to find a new approach in capturing my families. One that is authentic to who they are, and who I am as an artist.

A few months back, I was lucky enough to host a workshop with one of my most favorite family photographers, Sarah-Beth Photography! Her workshop open my eyes to a whole new world of family photography and I am in LOVE! Gone are the days of horrid identically matching outfits or the perfectly posed, cheesy smiling images. Although I will still capture some traditional posing, I hope to do it in a way that captures your authentic family. I want to capture the interactions, the silliness, and all the sweet moments in between…The perfectly imperfect…the perfectly you!
